Respite Activity Day…

Respite care is the number one supportive service that provides rest or relief from the daily responsibilities of caring for a child with a disability.

Opportunity of North Central WI Inc. offers an alternative to respite care through our Respite Activity Day, or RAD, program.

RAD is held the 2nd Saturday of each month and is available to all school-aged children, regardless of disability. Additionally, there are two “special” RADs, one for Halloween and one for Christmas. Children participate in a wide variety of group activities, therefore, RAD may not be an appropriate setting for every child.

RAD Program Focus

In addition to making new friendships, RAD participants take part in group activities, arts, crafts, fun and games. Occasionally, special community guests provide entertainment and learning experiences.

Fee Schedule

The cost to attend RAD is $5 per child. Registration is required one week in advance. Quarterly registration and payment is also available to ensure continued monthly participation. Monthly programs are held within Opportunity of North Central WI Inc’s Resource Center located at 740 North Third Street, Wausau, WI.
